A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that the site can recognise the same browser on the next request. Without them a shopping cart would forget itself every time you moved to another page. This page lists every cookie this site sets, which is a far shorter list than most shops can manage.
1. The cookies we set
All of them are strictly necessary. They exist to make the shop function, they carry no advertising value, and switching them off breaks the checkout rather than merely degrading it.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Cart token | Remembers which cart is yours, so what you added survives a page reload or a return visit | 30 days |
| Session token | Keeps you signed in while you move through your account and the checkout | 7 days, or until you sign out |
| Country and language | Remembers the region and language you chose so you are not asked again on every page | 1 year |
| CSRF token | A security value that stops another website submitting a form on your behalf | The browsing session |
None of these contain your name, your address or anything about what you bought. They hold identifiers that mean nothing outside this site.
2. Cookies set by someone else
One third party sets cookies here, and only on the payment step.
| Who | Where | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | The payment fields at checkout, and any page that loads the payment library | Processing the card payment and detecting fraudulent use of stolen cards |
Stripe's cookies are a condition of taking card payments safely, and blocking them means the card form will not work. Stripe describes them in its own cookie notice.
3. What this site does not use
No advertising cookies. No retargeting pixel from any network. No cross site tracking. No analytics package, no heatmaps, no session recording, no scroll or rage click capture. Nothing here follows you to another website, because nothing here is capable of it.
This is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight, and it is the reason the shop does not greet you with a consent banner. There is nothing to consent to beyond the four cookies that make a cart work, and the law does not require consent for those.
4. If that ever changes
If we add analytics or anything else that is not strictly necessary, this page will say so before it is switched on, a consent mechanism will appear, and it will default to off. We will not add a tracker quietly and update this page afterwards.
5. Controlling cookies yourself
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its settings, usually under Privacy. Browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards everything on close.
If you block the cookies in section 1, the cart will not remember its contents, you will not stay signed in, and the checkout will refuse your order for a missing security token. That is the trade you are making, and it is worth knowing before you conclude the site is broken.
We do not respond to the Do Not Track browser signal, because there is no agreed standard for what a site should do with it. There is no tracking here to switch off in any case. We do honour the Global Privacy Control signal to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act requires, although since we neither sell nor share personal information there is nothing for it to stop.
6. Related policies
What we do with the personal information behind these cookies is set out in the Privacy Policy. Cookies are a technical mechanism; the Privacy Policy is the substance.
